Another London Trip. Ache To Be There.

Apologies for the lack of posting and replying to comments recently. I've just taken a promotion at work which is exciting but at the same time incredibly busy. This weekend though I will be back on it like a car bonnet!! I am still here, I promise!!!

First Book Club

We had our first book club today and it was fantastic! It was just amazing to be sat with interesting women with interesting opinions about interesting literature. I'm writing the post now but if you fancy a look at some of the pictures from tonight's session, please check out the blog here.

London Calling

I spent my Saturday hitting up London with my friend Tom. Now, I love London. My parents met there, had me and then when I was 3, we moved down countryside way however, I spent all of my summers in Leytonstone at my Grandparents and, though I can't really call myself a londoner (one by birth!!), consider London a big part of my life and love spending weekends with friends and family there. The dream next year is to eventually move. This was the original dream after university but a little something called lack of job and funds played into me coming back with the Bigs. Tom moved to London last November and fancied doing some exploring. Our original plan was to go to the Imperial War Museum, alas this is shut until July so instead we decide to peruse Notting Hill and hit Portobello Market. It was everything. Ugh, I could have bought something from every stall. There were vintage leather satchels, old food tins, retro boxing gloves, nostalgic postcards, I just wanted to roll in the stalls and bask in all its antiquey glory. We decided to move on and hit Ed's, contrary to the picture, we did not see Les Mis on our way to Ed's, I just love it too much. Tom rolled his eyes when I took this picture. He doesn't understand that it's what Marius would do. Ed's was a dream, everything was a dream, why don't I live in London!?

How was your Saturday? Did you get up to anything fun? I had a bunch of friends who went to the beach, did you take advantage of this rare British sun and hit the outside too?

P.S. The Louis Vuitton purse was a present 10 years ago. I carry it inside my abnormally large Cambodian wallet, it's to keep my cards in so I don't lose my bank card....again.

Recent Make Up Purchases

I recently bought 17's Lipstick in Hot Chilli and I love it! I wore it out on Saturday and it really brought my whole look up a notch. I wore very little eye make up and received quite a few compliments. As you can see from the above pictures, the colour comes out quite orange. I'm a red lipstick wearer and always will be however I definitely have a few nights planned with this little number. It's smooth on and it's very durable. I only had to re-apply it once during the whole night! If you're a pale lady who can pull of the brightness then I'd say go for it!

As a pale lady with blotchy skin and the odd spot, I'm always looking for something to keep my skin even-toned and to cover any oddities up. I've heard a lot about green concealer so had a little google and found Nicola Robert's Dainty Doll Green Concealer in 004 It's A Kind of Magic. I only got this today so haven't really had a chance to use it however from what I've sampled, I'm liking it so far. As you can see it goes on fairly light but once blended in gives a nice cover.

I thought I'd go for a bit of glitz this week. I try and paint my nails a different colour every week and due to work being quite tough at the moment, I figured snazzy nails may cheer me up. I achieved this look using Nails Inc Motcomb Street and Fairy Dust from fairygoodies.co.uk. I painted the navy shade on, then did a clear coat, then another clear coat and subsequently sprinkled the fairy dust all over my nails. If you're going to purchase Fairy Dust, please note, glitter will go EVERYWHERE.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've bought recently? Have you tried any of the above before? Have you bought anything recently that you're loving? Let me know in the comments below!
